Target pest

Asian Citrus Psyllid

View PDF: Asian Citrus Psyllid – ACP Surveillance

Description

The Asian Citrus Psyllid (Diaphorina citri Kuwayama or ACP) causes serious damage to citrus plants and their relatives. Burned tips and twisted leaves result from an infestation on new growth. Psyllids are also carriers of disease. The ACP adult is identified by its brown body and brown mottled wings with an interrupted band at the wing-apex.

The Insect Science® ACP Trap can be used with the ACP PheroLure® to specifically attract the Asian Citrus Psyllid, enabling farmers to monitor pest populations for early detection of an increase in numbers. The card is attached to trees in citrus orchards and used to monitor the presence of ACP.

  • Scientifically proven lime green wavelength colour to attract Psyllid

  • Place one assembled ACP Card per tree on the outside canopy on either the southern or eastern side of the tree
  • Hang the assembled card 1.5 – 2 m above ground in commercial orchard
  • Inspect and collect cards once a week and replace with new ones
