This trap is specially designed for monitoring and mass trapping of small Lepidoptera moths like Tomato leaf miner, Potato tuber moth and Diamond back moth.

Description

The trap consists of a water trough and a plastic cage for the pheromone lure, which attracts the target insect. Insects then drown when entering the water trap.

The Water Trap can also be used as a pitfall trap for crawling insects. The addition of a UV protector agent increases the life expectancy of the trap.

Application

  • Place trap on the soil, or at a maximum height of 40cm above ground level
  • Keep a minimum distance of 15-20m between two traps
  • A water supply must be available to ensure the correct functioning of the trap
  • For monitoring, use 1 – 2 traps per 5ha
  • For mass trapping, use between 20 – 30 traps per ha, depending on the crop
  • To increase the effectiveness of the water trough, we recommend mixing a surfactant into the water to break the water tension
